Jeffrey Essmann

Jeffrey Essmann has had several plays produced Off-Broadway, among them Triplets in Uniform at La Mama, and Bella, Belle of Byelorussia at the WPA. His one-man show, Artificial Reality, was nominated for a Drama Desk Award, and was featured on The Talent Pool on Comedy Central. He has been published by Theater Week, Christopher Street, Harper's (as well as having been featured in The Harper's Forum Book), Le Quartier d'Orange, and American Letters & Commentary. Essmann has lived in Chicago since 1997. In 2001, he became an occasional story teller, essayist, and commentator for Chicago Public Radio (WBEZ-FM), appearing as a special guest on the station's "848" morning program.
