Anthony in the Garden
Comments from the author:
"Anthony in the Garden" is an ekphrastic piece inspired by Fra Angelico's "Temptation of St. Anthony," a pretty depiction of the torment of desire as opposed to the myriad demons of Northern European versions (i.e., Grunewald, Brueghel, Bosch). In the happy friar's version, the distraction of a succubus is just another visitor in the garden. The structure is ripped off from Jorie Graham.
